Breaking : Barcelona superstar midfielder taken off with an injury against Real Sociedad
Barcelona clinched another victory in the Copa del Rey as they defeated Real Sociedad 1-0 in the quarter-final tie at Camp Nou.
While they take a step closer towards winning another trophy, Barça also have a cause of concern as they saw midfield mainstay Pedri trudge off the pitch with an injury in the second half.
With less than 15 minutes left in the match, the 20-year-old Spanish international appeared to have sustained a knock and limped off the pitch, with Franck Kessie replacing him.
It appeared like it was the youngster who asked to be subbed off, which would indicate that he was in significant pain. Up until that point, Pedri was in fine fettle, pulling strings from midfield effortlessly.
Considering the packed fixture schedule ahead, Barcelona will be hoping that the injury to one of their most important players is not serious.
An update on his situation should emerge when manager Xavi Hernandez addresses the media.
Pedri, so far this term, has featured 24 times across all competitions this season, scoring five goals in the process. The former Las Palmas prodigy was on target for Barcelona in their last game against Getafe.
