Official : Barcelona Superstar join Sporting Lisbon In Deadline Day
After a rather quiet winter transfer window, Barcelona were rather lively on the deadline day. They were linked to a ton of players, including the likes of Sofyan Amrabat, Julian Araujo, Anthony Elanga, and even Bernardo Silva.
While they were not able to sign anyone for the first-team due to financial constrictions, they have managed to offload another player.
Sporting Lisbon have officially announced the transfer of Hector Bellerin on a permanent move from Barcelona. They have done so in a very interesting manner, with a photo of a moustache that resembles the Spanish defender’s iconic look.
Bellerin was in talks with Sporting for a few days, who wanted to sign him as a replacement for Pedro Porro.
The move broke down for a day or two in between, but Tottenham Hotspur continued to push to sign Porro, which helped Sporting accelerate the move for Bellerin.
The Spaniard missed training today to finalise the move to Portugal, and the same was also confirmed by Xavi during the pre-game press conference.
“Bellerin had asked to leave,” Xavi said. “With the departure of Pique, Memphis and Bellerin, replacement signings would be good for us. In what position? I don’t know, it’s difficult.”
